Scenario no. 8: Sound sequence composition

Suitable for: music school and primary school

Short Description:
Viewpoint of the children
Children compose a musical sequence by combining different tags on the basis of formal constraints such as repetition, variation, contrast, alternation, or other constructive operations such as narrative sequence.

Pedagogical Implementation
Children learn to create musical references to the outside world, to realise how a narrative can be used in music, and to compose in a less abstract and more programmatic way. A collaboration of various children on these tasks can help them realise how others perceive the basic musical compositional mechanisms, the differences of opinions that might exist in music composition, which would all be judged acceptable and welcome.
